Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is used to remove a range of benign skin blemishes, including skin tags, warts, verrucae, milia and age spots. Chloe will assess the area first to confirm it is suitable for treatment.

A controlled freeze is applied precisely to the blemish, which destroys the unwanted tissue. Over the following days the treated area scabs and falls away, allowing fresh, healthy skin to appear.

Most people feel a brief stinging or nipping sensation as the freeze is applied, which quickly settles. The treatment is very quick, so any discomfort is short lived.

Downtime is minimal. The treated area may be red, tender or slightly blistered for a few days and will form a small scab as it heals. You can carry on with your day as normal straight afterwards.

Many blemishes clear in a single session, though thicker lesions such as warts and verrucae can need two or three treatments. Chloe will advise what to expect at your assessment.

Cryotherapy is only suitable for benign, non suspicious lesions. Any mole or lesion that looks unusual or that you are worried about should be assessed properly first, and Chloe will refer you to your GP if further review is needed.
